Clinic Pre-Regatta 22-26 August 2026

Prepare your best for your next competitions with the Waszp Clinic Pre-Regatta organised by Univela in Campione del Garda. This course, scheduled from 22 to 26 August, is dedicated to entry-level and intermediate level racers who want to quickly improve their performance in the water. The main goal is to help you set the boat correctly and correct the most common mistakes that limit speed and control in the regatta. The clinic is led by Giulio Compagnoni, a Waszp instructor certified by the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV), with lessons held comfortably in Italian and English.

Details and Enrolment

The working group will remain small to ensure the highest quality of teaching, with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 participants. If we receive many requests, Giulio will be joined by Finnish coach Charlotte Lehtonen to keep the standards of support in the water high. The complete 5-day package costs 400 euros and includes pasta for lunch, but for those who want more flexibility it is possible to participate even in just 1, 2, 3 or 4 days at a cost of 100 euros per day. To live the experience in total comfort, it is possible to combine the clinic with your stay directly at Univela, choosing between single rooms or shared rooms for 3 or 4 people.

Clinic program

The practical activities will always be adapted according to the weather conditions of the moment and the specific skills of the group. The typical day starts at 7:30 with the alarm clock and breakfast for those staying at Univela. At 9:00 we meet for the technical observation of the Waszp, followed at 9:15 by the instructions on how to seriously arm the boat. After a brief assessment of the environmental conditions, at 9:30 the participants prepare helmets, wetsuits and life jackets for the exit into the water. Until 12:15 the first practical exercises take place focussed on weight distribution, use of the rudder, posture, operation of the foils and gait to the lax, and then return and prepare for the lunch break at 12:30.

Activities resume at 13:30 with a second outing at sea dedicated to more advanced exercises, such as steering control and flight height adjustment. At 15:00 we get into the heart of the competition with training regattas on the field, followed by the return and disarmament scheduled for 17:00. After the fundamental technical comment at 17:20, the works close at 18:00 leaving space for rest and shower. For those staying at the property, the evening offers dinner in company at 19:30 concluding with the lights off at 22:00 to recharge in view of the next day.
